The BDTC's caucus will be held on Saturday, April 26th, at 10:00 am, in Town Hall. During the caucus, we'll elect 9 Delegates and 4 Alternates to attend the 2025 State Democratic Convention, which will be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on September 13. Registered and preregistered Democrats in Belchertown may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus.
Young people (ages 16-35), people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting massdems.org.
At this year's MassDems convention, Delegates will gather to hear from our leaders and make important affirmations of our shared values and guiding principles for the future. This year will be a platform convention, and as a Delegate, you will play a role in shaping the the party's platform for the next four years.
By serving as a delegate, you are not just attending a meeting—you are actively shaping the Party’s values and priorities. Your voice helps set the foundation for the policies and advocacy efforts that Massachusetts Democrats will champion in the years ahead.
During the convention, you will:
Vote on the party platform: You will be a voting member at the convention and will voice your opinion on the 2025 MassDems Platform, ensuring it reflects the priorities and principles of our Party.
Represent our community: As an elected delegate, you are a voice of Democrats in your community and will bring the perspectives and concerns of your community to the statewide conversation.
Engage in debate and discussion: Participate in platform hearings and discussions leading up to the convention, contributing to the direction of the Party’s stance on key issues.
Network and learn: As an elected delegate, you will have the opportunity to attend speeches, panels, and workshops featuring elected officials, activists, and experts to gain insights and strategies for Democratic organizing in Massachusetts.
Mobilize for future elections: The convention is an opportunity to connect with fellow Democrats, candidates, and grassroots organizers to prepare for upcoming electoral battles at the local, state, and national levels.
